1999 was a banner year for geeks. We saw the rise of AMD, and the fall of Netscape. We were amazed by Apples’s comeback. And relieved (or disappointed) when the YK2 bug turned out to be nothing but hype. And during it all it seems that the Internet continues to grow, and computer prices continue to fall. Rather than look at all the good stuff to come out of this year we decided to take a more pessimistic approach, and look at all the crap to come out of 1999.
